It’s been a crazy year so far, lots of highs, along with some lows… After starting the year with a injury on my left shoulder I wasn’t even sure how long I was set to be out for. I separated my AC joint in my shoulder trying to snowboard as if I could actually do it, to realize very quickly I couldn’t!
Anyway I spent about 3 months out of the water, stuck in the gym, and working. When I finally got back in I was greeted with awful waves for about a month, by which point it was early April where I really got my mojo back and into the swing of things!
Competition wise I don’t think it could be going worse for me so far this year but I’m staying positive and training as much as possible, hoping to get back into a stride at the next tour stop, and certaintly by the Board Masters in Newquay this summer.
I’m really enjoying my surfing and right now in this summer we are having. I have found myself loving road trips down the coast like I used to years ago just to chase tiny waves in the sunshine!
