Breo Hero’s 700 Mile Challenge

by Nick Annan April 27, 2015

Our own Breo Hero Sarah Morton, and fellow outdoor enthusiast Laraine Wyn-Jones, have a pretty major challenge lined up this Summer with 700 miles off road to cover around the West coast of Scotland for their ‘Running North’ project.

Starting at Ardnamurchan point, they will finish around 10 days later at John o Groats having covered hundreds of miles off road. As if that wasn’t challenging enough, the landscape around those parts is less than flat with combined ascents totalling around 80,000 feet. That’s three times the height of Everest! The girls plan to cover around 100 miles per day carrying all their equipment and supplies with them and only using tarmac-ed roads or moving inland from the coastline when the geography forces them.

Already an admirable challenge, the duo are also raising funds for two charities, Yogability and The Stroke Association. Sarah’s charity is  Yogability who work with children and young adults with special needs, utilising the numerous health benefits of yoga such as stress reduction. Laraine’s nominated charity is The Stroke Association, inspired the help and awareness they offer and experienced by first hand when her husband suffered a stroke aged just 30.

Here at Breo we’ll be keeping you up to date on the challenge, you can follow the girls themselves on Twitter:

Change Is The Most Natural Thing In The World

by Elaine Abonal September 12, 2016

It’s funny how we are told that people are naturally resistant to change, whereas the most natural thing in the world IS change. These past few months have all been about change for me and although in my brain I know it, my heart doesn’t seem to be ready. Until now, where I have taken a break and have been … Continue reading

As ever, I’m not sure where the past while has gone – summer definitely seems to have disappeared in the blink of an eye! I started off the trail running season on a really positive note and was ready, and very excited, to get my first ultra-race of the year ticked off nice and early in April. But, … Continue reading
